Born into the Wellington County House of Industry & Refuge, the “Poor House” near Fergus, Ontario, Canada then bound out to a wealthy family in Toronto, Anna Ellington returns to Fergus in 1904 as a beautiful young woman in search of her family. She hopes to find out why her mother ended up in the County Poor House. During her visit to the area she interacts with some interesting local characters but also finds romance, wealth, mystery, intrigue and answers to many questions.
